Applying to the University
All students seeking admission to Dominican University must complete this application for admission and submit
official transcripts of previous academic work. Admission requirements are outlined in the Dominican University Undergraduate Bulletin.
Recommendations from teachers and counselors are encouraged because they can provide useful information for evaluating applications. No specific form is required.
Official transcripts are transcripts which are sent to Dominican University directly from the high school or
college(s) you attended.
Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis beginning in early fall of each academic year. Following admission,
full-time students are asked to send a $100 tuition deposit by May 1 for the fall term and November 1 for the spring
term. The part-time deposit is $25. After those dates the deposit is non-refundable. Only students who have paid
their deposits will receive information regarding registration.
Early application is encouraged for students wishing to take advantage of scholarship opportunities offered by the
university.
Information regarding services for students with special needs is available in the Office of the Dean of Students.
The application process is as follows:
- Complete this online application. When you are finished, click the SUBMIT button on the left
column and follow the instructions.
- Print the application agreement statement that appears after you submit the application.
Sign and mail it to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Dominican University.
- If you will be a freshman, have official copies of your high school transcript sent directly to
Dominican University. If your ACT or SAT scores are not included on your high school transcript,
have them sent to Dominican University from the testing agency.
- If you are a transfer student, have official copies of your high school and college transcripts sent
directly to Dominican University.
- If you will apply for financial aid, file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) after January 1 prior to the academic year for which you are applying for admission.
The FAFSA is available at high schools and college financial aid offices.
