Application Information

A message from the campus:

Attention:  This online application is only for those students who are U.S. citizens and who are applying into the undergraduate program as a *first year or **transfer student.  International applicants must apply by mail following all of the instructions that are specific to international applicants.  They should not use the online application. Questions related to international students may be sent to the international counselor at internationals@northpark.edu.

*First year students are defined as having completed their high school degree, or have acquired a GED. 

**Transfer students are students who have completed at least 12 transferable hours of college credit post high school with a minimum 2.0 GPA.

Please fill out the online application as thoroughly as possible. When you are finished, click the SUBMIT button on the left column of any application screen. Print the application agreement statement that appears after you submit the application and return it with a nonrefundable $40 application fee to the address below.

North Park University considers applications on a "rolling" basis throughout the year. When a file is complete, it will be reviewed and a decision made.

Application Checklist and Instructions

North Park University prepares a file for each applicant. Files are reviewed individually and carefully when complete and a decision is made based on the contents of the file. A personal interview may be requested to gain additional information and perspective beyond what is presented in the file. In some situations, additional documents or specific information may be requested.

First-Year Applicants
  • Correctly complete all required information on this online application
  • Pay nonrefundable $40 application fee
  • Complete essay question
  • Request official high school transcripts be submitted directly to:

  • Send items that might not be included in the high school transcript
    • Advanced Placement course transcript (AP)
    • International Baccalaureate (IB)
    • Transcripts for all college-level work

  • Submit references — Give the forms provided to the appropriate person (nonrelative), along with a stamped return envelope
  • Arrange for submission of standardized test scores to North Park
    • North Park University accepts the ACT, the SAT, or both tests
    • North Park University recommends the new SAT writing test and the new ACT writing test of all first-year applicants
    • The North Park University code is 1098 for the American College Test (ACT) code and 1556 for the SAT Reasoning Test (SAT)

  • Send final high school transcript required upon graduation or end of studies at previous institution ( Transcript Request Form)

Transfer Applicants
  • Correctly complete all required information on this online application
  • Pay nonrefundable $40 application fee
  • Complete essay question

    Transfer students with more than 12 hours of transferable credits do not need to submit a high school transcript unless college courses taken during high school were applied to meet high school graduation requirements. Students with less than 12 hours of transferable college credits will be considered first-year students and should follow those instructions.

  • Send final high school transcript required upon graduation or end of studies at previous institution ( Transcript Request Form)

Special Instructions and Required Materials

International Student Applicants
  • International students must complete a paper application
  • Financial Resources Statement (available on North Park website) and copy of current bank statement)
  • SAT or ACT or TOEFL scores are helpful but optional (North Park University TOEFL code is 1556)
  • Photocopy of current passport
  • Documents, including transcripts and/or government exams, should be in English whenever possible. If an adequate translation is not provided, the student may be assessed a translation fee. International student transcripts may be evaluated by an independent company at the expense of the student.
  • Submit references — Give the forms provided to the appropriate person (nonrelative), along with a stamped return envelope

English as a Second Language (ESL)
Intending to continue as an undergraduate student:
  • Complete entire application and materials described above
  • If an international student, provide extra information listed above

ESL only:
  • Complete pages 1 and 2 of the printed application
  • Write a brief essay about why you want to attend North Park
  • Sign page 5 of the printed application and submit to the admission office
  • If international student, provide extra information above

Students Seeking Readmittance
Applications are available online at www.northpark.edu/advising and at the Center for Academic Services, located in the Student Services building. Applications are submitted to the Center for Academic Services, not the Office of Admission. For more information, please call (773) 224-5737.

College Bridge
Chicago public high school junior and senior students, with the approval of their school, may apply to take courses at North Park University. Application forms are available at www.northpark.edu/focus/collegebridge or in your high school guidance office.

Second Degree Seeking Students
Students who have already earned a bachelors degree may apply for the purpose of earning second bachelor degree. Students should complete this online application, submit the application agreement statement to the Office of Admission, arrange for transcripts showing all previous college or graduate work, and a copy of the diploma. The only financial aid is the possibility of federal student loans.

Nondegree Seeking/Visiting Students
Nondegree seeking students studying during the regular academic year (fall-spring) must complete the first page of the regular application and sign the final page. May take up to 30 credit hours.Submit to the Office of Student Administrative Services.

Exchange Students
Register through the appropriate office at your homeschool. Exchange students who wish to continue studies at North Park University must apply for admission.

Summer School Students
A separate application form can be found on the summer school section of the website www.northpark.edu/summer.

Instructions

To complete this online application, type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be reentered prior to submittal.
