2005-2006 APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
Welcome to the Wheaton College Online Application
A message from the campus:

Thank you for your interest in applying to Wheaton College.  Unfortunately, our deadline for the Fall 2005 term has passed and we are no longer accepting Freshman or Transfer applications.  Please contact our office at admissions@wheaton.edu if you would like information about applying to Wheaton for the Spring (Transfers only) or Fall of 2006.

You are invited to visit campus, either for an individual visit or during a Wheaton Connection Day.  The Admissions Office is open Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm.  During the months of September through April, prospective students can visit classes, meet faculty, take a campus tour, attend an information session and stay overnight in a residence hall.  Students wishing to stay overnight must contact the Admissions Office at least three weeks prior to their visit to arrange housing with a student host.  During the summer months, the Admissions Office welcomes visitors for campus tours and admissions information sessions.  Call 800-222-2419 x2 to arrange your visit or go to www.wheaton.edu/admissions/UndGrad/visiting to learn more.

Please note--The following applicants should not use this online application, and will need to contact the listed office for the proper application forms: graduate applicants (contact the Graduate Admissions Office at gradadm@wheaton.edu or 800-888-0141), international applicants (contact International Student Services at International.Students@wheaton.edu or 630-752-5191), returning Wheaton students (contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office at admissions@wheaton.edu or 800-222-2419), and students who applied to Wheaton within the past two years (contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office at admissions@wheaton.edu or 800-222-2419).

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

APPLICATION FORM — Complete all necessary sections of the online application form. Refer to the following guidelines:
  • You may apply to the College of Arts and Sciences or the Conservatory of Music, but not both. If you are unsure of your desire to major in music, it is preferable that you apply to the College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Freshman applicants are those students who have not yet graduated from high school, regardless of the number of college credits earned. College coursework is evaluated after acceptance. Freshman applicants are also those who at the time of application have graduated from high school but have earned less than 15 semester hours of college credit. Freshmen applicants may not apply for spring or summer sessions. Transfer applicants are those who, at the time of application, have graduated from high school and completed 15 semester hours or more of college credit from an accredited institution, and will have completed a full year of college before the time of enrollment at Wheaton College.
  • Important Note for International Students — If you are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, please contact the International Student Services Office at International.Students@wheaton.edu or (630) 752-5191 before you apply.
  • If you have already earned a bachelor's degree, please contact the admissions office before applying.
$50 APPLICATION FEE — Send check or money order payable to Wheaton College. Credit card payment is not accepted.

ESSAYS — Please see instructions in the "Autobiographical Information" section (page 6). Freshmen are required to answer essay questions one and two. Transfers must submit an additional essay.

HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT AND HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION FORM — The transcript should include grades earned, class rank (if available), and GPA for grades 9-11. The High School Information Form (see 'Form Downloads' below) must be completed by the High School Guidance office or another school official, and submitted with your official transcript. If your high school allows, please send your official transcript and High School Information Form in a signed and sealed high school letterhead envelope with your application. Otherwise, please request that these items be sent directly to the admissions office from your high school.
  • HOMESCHOOL STUDENTS: If you were homeschooled for any part of high school, submit the Homeschool Information Form with a transcript signed by a homeschool official. You may access a copy at www.wheaton.edu/admissions/UndGrad/prospective or contact our office to request one.
  • POST-SECONDARY TRANSCRIPTS: Transfer applicants are required to submit transcripts from all postsecondary institutions, whether or not credit was earned or grades were received. Freshmen applicants who have taken or are taking college courses at a postsecondary institution should also submit transcripts. Postsecondary transcripts should be sent directly from the institution to the Wheaton College Admissions Office.
ACADEMIC RECOMMENDATION — A report from an academic teacher (English, science, social science, math, or foreign language) or your guidance counselor is required. This should be someone who knows your classroom performance well. Complete Part I of the Academic Recommendation form (see 'Form Downloads' below) and give it to your reference person. Ask that he/she send the form directly to the admissions office or return the form to you in a signed and sealed envelope, which you will submit, unopened, with your application fee. Homeschool students should refer to the Homeschool Information Form for further instructions. Transfers: Your academic recommendation must come from a college professor or advisor. However, current college freshmen may submit a recommendation from either a college professor or high school teacher.

PASTOR'S RECOMMENDATION — A recommendation from a pastor, youth pastor, former pastor, Bible study leader, or churchofficial is required. This person should be a mature Christian adult who has had opportunity to observe your spiritual life. This person should not be a relative. Complete Part I of the form (see 'Form Downloads' below) and give it to your reference person, requesting that he/she send the form directly to the admissions office or return it to you in a signed and sealed envelope, which you will submit, unopened, with your application.

TEST SCORES — You are required to submit either SAT I or ACT scores, which may come on your official transcript or directly from the testing company. Do not send your student copy of the score report. If you have not already done so, and if your scores are not reported on your transcript, request that your scores be sent to Wheaton College. Wheaton's code number for the SAT I is 1905; the code number for the ACT is 1160. Wheaton uses the highest verbal and math scores from any sitting of the SAT I and/or the highest composite ACT score. Please note that if you are applying Early Action, the test must be taken no later than the October test date of your senior year. If you are applying Regular Action, the test should be taken no later than the December test date of your senior year. Transfers: Test scores are required unless you have earned at least 60 college semester credit hours at the time of application.
