Heartland Community College New Student Enrollment Process

International Students: You must apply for admission through the International Application process accessible at: http://www.heartland.edu/international/application/intapp.pdf

New students who plan to enroll at Heartland Community College for the first time are required to follow the New Student Orientation process.

1. Submit HCC application.

2. Request official transcripts from high school or GED and all previous colleges.

3. Secure funding for college.

4. Make an appointment to attend a New Student SOAR session.

Heartland Community College is an open admissions institution, admitting to the college all students who benefit from our programs, including:

  • High school graduates
  • GED certificate holders
  • All persons 18 years of age or older
  • Transfer students from other colleges and universities
  • High school students recommended by an appropriate high school official


Admission to the college does not ensure admission to a particular course or program of study. HCC provides District 540 residents access to a broad range of educational programs responsive to individual and community needs.

Application

Submit this online application and print out the application agreement statement with your signature and send it to the address on the right. Please have your high school or GED and other college transcripts forwarded to the records department at HCC.

Basic Skills Assessment

The Basic Skills Assessment is required of all first-time college students. Testing requirements for transfer students will be determined after reviewing previous college and university transcripts.

Instructions

To complete this online application, type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be reentered prior to submittal.
